Comprehensive resources for ostomy care nurses now available online
ConvaTec (Skillman, NJ) recently launched ConvaTecLINKTM , an online
interactive community and resource. The online resource will be dedicated to
practice solutions for ostomy healthcare providers. It was unveiled at the
41st Annual Conference of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses (WOCN)
Society meeting. ConvaTec and WOCN also announced the launch of the WOC
Nurse Great Comebacks® Award, a new recognition program honoring a WOC nurse
who has been instrumental in helping patients achieve a “great comeback”
following ostomy surgery. This new award will be bestowed annually as part
of the Great Comebacks® Program, sponsored by ConvaTec in partnership also
with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, United Ostomy Associations of
America, the Intestinal Diseases Education and Awareness Society, and the
Youth Rally.
Utilizing feedback from WOC nurses, ConvaTecLINK was developed to provide
the tools and content that ostomy nurses said they most wanted from an
online resource. The online resource consists of an interactive website and
a monthly peer-to-peer email communication. The website includes a
comprehensive library of information, such as ostomy basics, patient support
resources, detailed reimbursement information, case studies, and an image
library and printable literature. Interactive tools include a community
section, educational events, and web casts.
